Activities & Programs

Alphabet Soup

A preschool-age story time for 3 to 5 year olds, focusing on one letter each session. Practice the letter, listen to stories and make a craft.

Book Buddies

A monthly book discussion group for children in Grades 2 and 3.

Chapter Book Chat

A monthly book discussion group for children in Grades 4, 5, and 6. 

Circle Games

Children in Kindergarten to Grade 2 can join us for games like musical chairs, hot potato, Simon Says etc.

Craft Along

Crafts and stories for school-age children, pertaining to a seasonal theme.

Family Bingo Night

An evening of Bingo games, some traditional and some with a twist! 

Kahoot Family Game Night Trivia

Children in Kindergarten through Grade 6, as well as adults, can join us for a lively game of trivia on Zoom using Kahoot!

Learn to Code

STEM Activities: Classes for children in Grades 3 and up, to learn basic coding and other STEM apps (Tinkercad, Canva, code.org).

Lego Club

An afternoon for children to build and be creative with Legos. The library provides the Legos for use in the library.

Ms. K's Read Aloud

A chapter book read aloud where school-age children can sit back, relax and enjoy being read to via Zoom. Books are selected by the Children's Librarian and are read over the course of as many sessions it takes to complete the book.

Snuggly Stories

Put on your PJs, grab a stuffed animal or a blanket, and cozy up for some bedtime stories and songs! For babies up to age 3. 

STEAM Workshops

LittleBits, Ozobots, 3D Printing, 3Doodlers, Snap Ciruits, and more.

Toddlers, Tots & Tykes

Stories, songs, rhymes and fun for children, Birth through Age 3.

Special Events

Annual Children’s Sidewalk Chalk Show

An annual spring tradition at the library for children to get creative on the sidewalks outside the library.

Annual Halloween Parade

Children of all ages meet to hear Halloween stories and to show off their costumes in a parade around the library.

Letters to Santa Night

Children write letters to Santa for Macy’s/Make-A-Wish Foundation and make holiday crafts.

Reading Programs

Summer Reading Program

Annual summer reading challenge for all ages. Includes weekly
reading tracking, incentive prizes, and special programs tailored to the summer reading theme.

Winter Reading Challenge

A reading challenge designed to keep kids engaged in reading over school break and into the New Year.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

A program that encourages parents/caregivers to read 1,000 books with a child before he or she starts kindergarten. Simple reading record sheets, incentive stickers, achievement certificate, and prizes.
